Sewing Machine Basics
A complete beginners sewing class.
Learn the basics of using a sewing machine - from threading it up to gaining confidence & getting started stitching. We will cover:
Threading the machine
Winding a spool correctly
What all the different stitches are for & when to use them
Checking tension
How to sew in a straight line
Tips & advice to give you confidence to start your 1st project
These are small classes, maximum of 4, where you can learn in a supportive & friendly environment.
Don't worry if you don't have a machine, this is a great opportunity to use one in the studio, I can give you advice if you're looking to buy a new machine.
If you're bringing your own machine, then don't forget to bring all the bits & bobs that came with it - pedal, power cable, instructions etc.** If you need specs to thread the needle bring those too!
This is a great introduction if you want to progress onto any of the other courses & workshops on offer, a fab gift for someone wanting to learn to sew or for someone who is getting a new machine as a gift for a birthday or Christmas.
*Please note there are stairs going up to the studio & the loos are downstairs. There is free parking right outside, ideally located in the centre of Horbury. Refreshments are provided plus fabric, thread & basic sewing tools to sew any samples.

Payment in full is required at the time of your booking to secure your place. If you find you can’t attend 7 days or more before the start of your class you will receive a refund. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for cancellations with less than 1 weeks’ notice.

**Please ensure that the machine is in a good working condition before bringing it to your class, I cannot troubleshoot a faulty machine, so don't bring in aunty Mauds that's been in the attic for 20 years!
